We advanced the following IE's - 1 Group Acting (Carnival Round the Central Figure), 2 Group Musicals (Hey Boys & Hey Boys Reprise & Factory Girls/Come Up to My Office) 1 Duet Acting (Of Mice & Men), 1 Costume Design (Men on Boats), and we were chosen as the Play Marathon Chapter Select for Texas, (All Rights Reserved) while also being the youngest troupe in Play Marathon.  Our Group Acting  and Duet Acting were chosen for Main Stage Callbacks based on their perfect score, and we were the youngest troupe represented at Main Stage Callbacks. Since 2017, we have definitely made some strides!

·     Both of our Black Box Shows, The Elephant Man & The Lost Boy sold out both weekends of its run, and required us to add additional shows.

·     That one time I got to sit 10' away from Dame Julie Andrews and ask her a question on Great Day Houston.

Group Acting received a Superior Rating at Nationals.

·     Joined the Houston-area Comedy Sportz High School League

·     Produced eight productions during the 2018-2019 Season: Big Fish, the Musical, Masque of the Red Death (immersive experience),  Twelve Angry Jurors, A Christmas Carol, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, James and the Giant Peach, Snow Angel, Kentucky Cycle: Fire in the Hole (UIL-OAP).

2017-2018

·      I opened Bridgeland High School (5A, but 6A in 2018-2019), as a Theatre Department of ONE (myself, of course), 160 students in the program, and the school consisting only of freshmen and sophomores, with a class expansion happening for the next two years.

·      Taught Theatre 1, Theatre 2, Tech Theatre 1, and Theatre Productions was a combined class that consisted of Theatre 1 Productions, Theatre 2 Productions, and Advanced Tech Theatre Students.

·     Was integral in establishing a booster club, Bridgeland Theatre Arts Booster Club.

·     As Auditorium Manager, I  was responsible for approving scheduling of events in the auditorium, as well as helping facilitate the various needs of those utilizing the space.

·      In our inaugural season, we presented four shows: Romeo and Juliet, Argonautika (UIL-OAP) by Mary Zimmerman, The House at Pooh Corner (adapted by Bettye Knapp), and a series of songs and scenes that celebrated our community, a revue called What We Did for Love.

·      In 5A UIL OAP, against some serious competition (regular state advancers), my group of freshmen and sophomores, none of whom have ever competed in high school UIL OAP, advanced from Zone to District with Argonautika. At Zone, we took Best Actor and three All-Star Cast Awards, and a Best Technician. At District, we took one All-Star Cast, and two Honorable Mention All-Star Cast.

·      As the founding director, I was responsible for the branding of our department. Wanting to be a little outside of the box, I went with URSA MAJOR THEATRICS. Our school mascot is a bear, our theatre students are stars, to me it just worked. Also, the marketing works its way down to our feeder school students, our URSA MINORS, and even further to our elementary students - The Little Dippers.

·      Took 24 students to the Texas Thespian Festival - all competed. We didn't see any qualifiers - several close, but I felt good about it. None of them had ever gone, they were largely responsible for preparing their performances on their own, because I was buried in all aspects of a 65 member production of Romeo and Juliet, AND trying to work in a space that was still far from complete. They knocked it out of the park, in my humble opinion.

·      Currently collaborating with our Choir and Orchestra teachers in preparation for our first musical in the Fall, BIG FISH.

·      Was able to recruit enough in the first year to secure our second theatre teacher who will fill the role of Technical Director for 2018-2019.

·      Designed the website as part of my interview (I knew branding was very important to this school from the very beginning), which ultimately became our website: Bridgeland High School Theatre
